Four Steps of Prayer
The Moms in Prayer hour is divided into Four Steps of Prayer: Praise, silent Confession, Thanksgiving and Intercession. To ensure plenty of time to thoroughly pray for your children, school and administrators, we estimate about 25 minutes for Praise, Confession and Thanksgiving, and about 35 minutes devoted to Intercession.
♦ Praise
Instruction
Leader: Select an attribute, name, or character of God as a topic of focus for your prayer hour. Use definitions. Give Scripture(s) which will further describe and define. The leader may assign Scripture verses to several moms.
Prayer
Focus on the topic just discussed by praying in one accord (conversational agreement prayer as led by the Holy Spirit). For example, "Dear Heavenly Father, we your daughters come before you in one accord proclaiming that you are ." Remember, this is not Thanksgiving, stay focused on the character of God: who He is.
♦ Silent Confession
Continue in prayer
Leader: "Father, in Your word You tell us that You know everything and that nothing is hidden from You. You tell us if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before [You]; and whatever we ask we receive from [You]. (I John 3:21-22B NASB) Therefore, Father, search our hearts and tell us if there is anything that is displeasing to You."
Silent prayer
Name the sin or sins specifically, anything not right with God or man. Repent. Thank God for the forgiveness of the sin. Ask to be controlled by the Holy Spirit.
♦ Thanksgiving
Continue in prayer
Leader: "Father, we thank You not only for the forgiveness of our sins, but for so many other wonderful things that You have done." Thanksgiving only, no requests! Pray the answers to previous prayers as others join in one accord.
"Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples."
I Chronicles 16:8 (NASB); "Thank the Lord for all the glorious things he does; proclaim them to the nation." Psalms 105:1 (TLB)
♦ Intercession
Leader: Give one Scripture to pray for the children. Each mom uses the same Scripture and each mom prays for one of her children. Also, give the Scripture and/or topic to pray for the teachers, the school concerns, and the Moms in Prayer concerns. Form groups of two or more as comfortable.
♦ Intercession for Our Own Children
Pray Scripturally: Pray for one child at a time. Pray back and forth until you feel your heart is at rest concerning that child. Then pray for the other mom's child using the same Scripture.
Pray a Specific Request: Pray for one child at a time. Pray back and forth until your heart is at rest concerning that child. Then pray for the other mom's child. Write the request on the Prayer Sheet. Continue in prayer throughout the week for the other mom's child as well as your own.
♦ Intercession for Teachers
Leader: Give one Scripture to pray for the teachers that week, or one of the topics under Prayer Suggestions for Teachers in the ministry Booklet. Urgent prayer requests, i.e. teacher in hospital, should be given to the leader, preferably before the prayer meeting, or introduce them in prayer.
Pray scripturally and/or topically. For school-specific groups, each pair of moms is given one teacher from the faculty list for whom to pray. It is suggested that groups pray for members on the faculty list in alphabetical rotation. Pray also for the urgent prayer requests. If time allows, pray for any teacher(s) that you chose to minister to personally throughout the year with goodies and notes. Continue in prayer throughout the week.
♦ Intercession for School Concerns
Leader: Give topics or concerns. Moms should make leader aware of concerns, preferably before the prayer time, or introduce them in prayer. Pray now and during the week.

♦ Intercession for Moms in Prayer
Leader: Give topics or concerns. Specific requests are changed weekly and posted on the Group Leaders Corner.
Pray for the group's integrity, confidentiality and unity.
Pray for an Area Coordinator and/or State Coordinator.
Pray for Moms in Prayer headquarters, Assign [to the staff and board members] Godliness and Integrity (Psalm 25:1a TLB), [that their lives will] overflow with joy and thanksgiving for all He has done (Colossians 2:7b TLB), [and make them] wise about spiritual things (Colossians 1:9b TLB).
Pray for more volunteer help the ministry, locally, nationally and internationally.
Pray for the financial needs of the ministry.
