God’s Faithfulness in Kenya
Heidi Palicio, a Moms in Prayer leader in the United States, traveled to Africa in May 2011. Her trip to Kenya came unexpectedly through a closed door to go to Sudan in 2010. Another leader traveled to Sudan to train the women in the Four Steps of Prayer. A pastor from Kenya attended that training in Sudan, heard about Moms in Prayer, and wanted to bring this to the women in his country. God then opened the door for Heidi to go to Kenya and meet with this pastor – and many churches.
Heidi’s first opportunity to share Moms in Prayer was in Watamu, Kenya, where 25 women representing five different churches came to learn about the power of moms praying together for their children and schools. In the town of Malindi, 19 women representing four different churches attended.
“It was such a joy to see the women’s eyes light up when they learned how to pray God’s Word over their children,” shared Heidi.
Prior to learning about Moms in Prayer International, the women in Watamu and Malindi remained within their own churches. Praying with Moms in Prayer gave them a reason to come together with other women in their communities. Both the Watamu and Malindi women said very happily, “We are now united.”
Heidi then traveled to the Kitale area where she met with Caroline, Regional Coordinator in Kenya. Together, they shared Moms in Prayer in different towns, at a school, at the prison and at a local church. “In total, 85 women were trained in four days and we say Glory to God Almighty,” said a thankful Caroline. “It is my prayer that the trained ladies will multiply into thousands.”
Thank you to all who prayed and gave financially toward the 2011 Moms in Prayer International-e3 trips to Kenya, Colombia and Ukraine. You helped change lives for all eternity!
