We praise the Lord for what He is doing throughout the world when mothers come together to pray for their children and schools!
Bless Our Schools Sunday took place in Bamako, Mali on October 1, 2011. While the women wanted to have their event in September, they were prevented from doing this, so God made a way for them to pray for the new school year in October.
The challenge in this area on weekends is that many of the moms are involved in wedding ceremonies and other activities. However, the Moms in Prayer leaders sought the Lord, and He brought 16 moms to pray for Mali’s children and schools at the Bless Our Schools event.
Moms in Mali are experiencing many difficulties at this time. Last year, the only government university was closed prior to the end of the school year. This was a serious problem because the faculty could not finish their sessions for 2009-2010. Also, the reasons for closing the university have not been solved yet. So, during Bless Our Schools, the mothers humbled themselves before the throne of the Almighty who can change this situation. They prayed in faith and committed this year to the Lord so that students can study and complete their programs.
Moms thanked the Lord that primary and secondary schools started on time this year and without any problems. One of the ladies participating in Bless Our Schools asked for prayer for her daughter to receive financial help with her education. The following evening the scholarship list was published and this mom discovered the Lord had given her daughter the very help they had prayed for. Praise the Lord!
Prayer was also lifted up for a baby nephew who had been sick. The doctors could not determine what was wrong with the baby. For two nights, they didn’t know if he would live another day. The women prayed and cried out to God for him. A few days after they prayed, the aunt called to say that the child was removed from oxygen and was back at home with his family. Praise the Lord for this miracle!
Please continue to pray for Mali and the Moms in Prayer groups here. To God be the Glory!
