Sandy Cole, Moms in Prayer Country Helper to Paraguay, traveled to Burundi, Africa, to provide HIV/Aids education to the people there and to also share Moms in Prayer. She was encouraged to learn that the president of Burundi is a Christian man who relies on prayer and who meets with a Christian pastor every week. The Lord went one step further and gave Sandy the chance to give a Booklet to the First Lady of Burundi, a great woman of prayer!
Both groups and individuals in the Bujumbura area learned about the Four Steps of Prayer. At Fecabu Church, Sandy spoke to 125 women for one hour about Moms in Prayer. Later she met with the head of women's ministry who leads a weekly prayer group. Sandy also presented Moms in Prayer to four women from the Fecabu Church Women's Ministry Council and at a pastor's training event where she shared with one pastor's wife and four other pastors during a lunch meeting. Two of the pastors asked her to come to Congolese Refugee Camp in Burundi and train the women's prayer ministry there.
Several different languages are spoken in Burundi, so Sandy was able to distribute about 100 Booklets in Swahili, French and English, and also French and English Leader's Guides. God also opened the doors for Sandy to speak briefly about Moms in Prayer on Christian radio and TV.
