My first phone call from the Australia prayer team in the U.S. was delightful. The excitement was evident as we talked about our hearts for children being covered in prayer. To make things even better, I discovered that my best friend and prayer partner, Elaine, who moved to Stillwater, Minnesota, is in the same location as the Moms in Prayer Australia prayer team!!
I found out about Moms in Prayer International 11 years ago when living in the U.K. Then we moved to Australia, where I started a Moms in Prayer group in Sydney in August 2006. Now there are five groups here! I stand amazed at the way the Lord has grown us as Christian women. Some were scared to pray out loud and are now praying boldly. Moms in Prayer International is truly a wonderful life-changing ministry and I feel privileged to be a part of it. I am a busy mom, taking care of my daughter and son. Seeing the results of prayer for them, I am passionate about the ministry. We give God the glory, honor and praise!

Many of the challenges I've noticed in New South Wales are busyness (finding time for the hour of prayer), fears about starting a group and also taking some issues too lightly, such as bullying. Another challenge is in our educational system where normally Scripture is taught in the schools for 30 minutes per week by local church volunteers. Recently however, a political decision was made to offer an Ethics course instead. It's possible this could mean the end of Scripture in our schools. Please pray that God will help moms here to recognize prayer as a priority in their lives.
One incredible way God has already started to answer our prayers is the recent news from a Korean leader in Sydney that there are 31 Korean praying groups between Sydney and Brisbane!
