My family and I arrived in Cambodia twelve years ago as missionaries, and for nine of those years I have been praying with Moms In Touch. I knew from the time my kids were in preschool that prayer for them was imperative.
We have six people praying in my group at an international Christian school where there are Cambodian, Korean and American families. About 300 kids attend the school, grades kindergarten through 12th. Our team of MITI women has been faithful to pray for several years now. Leadership is shared, meaning that each mom takes her turn leading the group. We are confident in this approach since all the women have been praying for many years and are well-trained in the Moms In Touch format. Each week we pray through the yearbook and also send a prayer request email to the teachers so that we can pray for them more specifically.
Right before Arise! Cry Out! took place, our school had moved, so it was the perfect opportunity to pray throughout our new building for the ACO event. On November 14, our MITI Cambodia group gathered for two hours in a great time of prayer. We were joined by the school principal and some parents, teachers and high school students. We walked through the entire building and prayed for each classroom and teacher. We also spent some time in prayer for education in Cambodia as a whole. The attributes of God listed on the MITI website were very helpful to us in our prayer time as well as the ACO prayer sheet.
Moving forward, we pray that the Lord will bring more moms to cry out for their children and that He will establish Korean-speaking groups. We now have a Korean MITI booklet to help this along. We are also asking God to spread Moms In Touch to other schools in our city, with the ultimate goal of covering all Cambodian schools in prayer!
