“I want Jesus. How can I
do it?”
I began explaining the
gospel, “You admit you’re a sinner, and
believe that Jesus died on the cross for
your sins; that He’s the only way you
can get to heaven.”
A few tears escaped and
her reply was distant. “He did die for
me.”
“And confess to God, that
you believe, that you are a sinner, and
that you want Him in your life.”
She didn’t just bow her
head, she got down on her knees,
and asked, “What do I say?”
I wasn’t sure what to
say. So I just repeated the prayer I had
heard so many times from my pastor, and
she repeated after me.
She finished the prayer
and smiled a weak, tired smile, “Thank
you.”
I know I wasn’t the one
who brought her to Christ. My pastor has
said that someone plants the seed,
someone waters, and someone reaps. It’s
very unlikely one person does all three.
I guess I got to “reap”!
