Suggested Scriptures to Pray for Your Pastor, His Family and Your Church

Your pastor …
We ask that You, God, “will fill [name of pastor] with the knowledge of Your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that he may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please You in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to Your glorious might so that he may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully give thanks to the Father.” (from Colossians 1:9-12a)

His family …
Father, remind my pastor’s family that “godliness with contentment is great gain.” May they continue to “pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness, and fight the good fight of the faith.” (from 1 Timothy 1:6, 11b-12a)

Church staff …
May our church staff “do their best to present themselves to God as those approved, workman who do not need to be ashamed and who correctly handle the word of truth.” (from 2 Timothy 2:15)

Church family …
May You, “the God who gives endurance and encouragement give [our church] a spirit of unity among ourselves as we follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth we may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (from Romans 15:5-6)
