I attended my first Moms In Touch / Moms in Prayer meeting in 1999. At that time I was a busy mom who had a part-time job and was struggling to raise a half-day kindergartner and a 3rd-grader. I could not help but keep coming back to the weekly prayer group for the next 12 years because praying the Four Steps of Prayer absolutely refreshed me. I also continue to experience the power of praying Scripture. It stays in me and speaks to me throughout the whole week. 

A couple of months after I attended the first group, I was contacted by an Area Coordinator and was told that she had been praying for a Korean contact as she saw many Korean moms in the area. With her initiative and support from the New Jersey State Coordinator, I was able to form our first Korean-speaking group in the spring of 2000. I have witnessed many Korean moms, including myself, grow so much from the Four Steps of Prayer. We have learned to praise God from our hearts, be able to claim sonship from confession, giving authentic thanks to God, and finally learned to pray the will of God for our children.

저는 1999년에 처음으로 기도하는 엄마들(MITI)모임에 참석했습니다. 그 때는 파트타임으로 일을 하며 초등학교 3학년생과 유치원생을 보살피느라 한 시도 쉴 새 없이 바쁘게 지내고 있었지요. 그러나 첫 기도 모임 참석 후 지난 12 년 동안  매 주 참석하지 않을 수 없었습니다.  이 마이티 기도모임에서 말씀으로 기도할 때 받는 능력을 지속적으로 체험하기 때문입니다. 일 주일 내내, 그 능력이 제게 거하며 성령님이 제게 말씀하시는 것입니다.

첫 모임 참석한지 두 달 후에 마이티 지역총무님께서 저를 찾으시고,저희 타운에 한인들이 많이 살고 있는 것을 보고 마이티와 한인엄마들을 연결할 수 있는 사람을 위해 기도해 왔다고 하셨습니다. 이 총무님의 격려와 뉴저지주코디네이터의 지원으로 2000년 봄에 한국어로 기도하는 첫 번 째 한인 마이티 기도그룹을 시작하게 되었습니다. 저를 포함하여, 많은 한인 엄마들이 마이티4단계 기도를 통해 영적으로 크게  성장하는 것을 목격하였습니다. 저희들은 심령 깊은 곳으로 부터 하나님을 찬양하는 것을 배웠고, 죄를 고백함으로  하나님의 자녀로서의 권세를 누리는 것, 그리고 진심으로 감사하는 것을 배웠고, 결국은 자녀들을 위해 내 뜻이 아닌 하나님의 뜻이 이루어지도록 구하는 것을 배웠습니다.

저는 계속해서 한인엄마들을 찾아 가  함께 기도하는  능력과 기쁨을 나누기 바랍니다. 제가 여러 분이 마이티 기도회를 시작하는 데 도움을 줄 수 있다고 생각하시면 제게 연락 주시기 바랍니다.
