Several years ago, a dear friend convinced me to go to a "Hearts at Home" conference with her. During one of the break-out sessions, I stood in the back of a very crowded room (standing room only), with tears streaming down my face, as I listened to Fern Nichols passionately share about the Moms in Prayer International ministry. I knew right then I had to be involved. It took a few more years of God pricking my heart for me to actually get started, but once I did, I was completely hooked. I started with an elementary school group and since that time have joined a church-based group, the Arkansas State team, and now the USA Multicultural Team!
I can honestly say that through all of the various women's ministries, church activities, retreats, and prayer groups I've been involved in, Moms in Prayer has changed me the most! I have learned to pray PRAISES back to God for who He is; I have learned more about confession to Him through the conviction of the Holy Spirit; I have learned to be more thankful in ALL circumstances; and most importantly, I believe, I have learned to pray God's holy scriptures (His truths) over my child and many other children. All glory be to Him for bringing me to this ministry!
My love and compassion for different cultures began in 1994 on a mission trip to Haiti. This was the second most life-changing spiritual experience in my life. Through many trips back to that country over the years, along with trips to Mexico, Cuba and other areas, God has opened my eyes to ways of helping bring His love to people all over the world. Moms in Prayer is a very simple, yet extremely powerful, way to do that!
If there is any way I can assist you in learning more about this influential ministry of prayer for our children and schools, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am praying that God will continue to touch your heart about how to be involved.
