Starting A Group
|
| Pray that God brings you another mom who will be willing to meet with you each week for prayer. |
| |
• Read and agree with the MITI Statement of Faith. • Use the MITI prayer time format: Four Steps of Prayer. • Agree with the policies of MITI ministry. • Read the Moms In Touch booklet. • Make a list of prospective moms from your school and ask them to join your prayer time. • Register your group online. This will enable interested moms to be referred to your group as well as receive news and updates from the ministry. • Have your members register online. • Visit the Leaders Corner for MITI prayer sheets and helpful tools to enhance your prayer hour. • Trust God for answers to prayer, focus on Him, and expect great things to happen. Make sure you are led by the Holy Spirit. |
As you begin: |
| |
• Come as you are. • Be faithful in meeting for one hour on a regular basis (weekly is optimal). Stress the importance of faithful commitment to the group. Regular attendance develops consistent prayer coverage, builds trust, instills unity and strengthens the group. • Start and finish on time. • Read the Moms In Touch booklet periodically. • To avoid distractions, do not serve refreshments. • We suggest placing a “Please Do Not Disturb” note on the door and silencing all phones. |
Each mom needs: |
| |
• A Bible • Her own Moms In Touch booklet • To allow another person the privilege of caring for her preschool children during this hour |
In matters of prayer: |
| |
• Pray conversationally in one accord using the Four Steps of Prayer. • Do not get sidetracked in talking about your requests; pray about them. Share your requests in prayer rather than discussing them first. • Everything that is said or prayed about in a Moms In Touch meeting is confidential. Nothing said should ever be shared with anyone outside of that Moms In Touch group. Confidentiality cannot be overemphasized. |
