Six months ago, I would never have dreamed that God would call me to minister to women in Rwanda. But I'm so glad He did!
My name is Robin Clark and I work in the Events Department at Moms In Touch headquarters. I have been praying in a Moms In Touch group for about 15 years.
In June of this year, God allowed me to join e3 Partners on a mission trip to Rwanda which included a MITI training conference. The first five days were spent evangelizing, equipping believers and establishing new churches in the rural villages of Muhanga, Rwanda.
At the end of the week, we trained 250 women in the MITI prayer format. We had women from approximately 35 different churches and 11 denominations. It was amazing to see how God had prepared their hearts and how quickly they caught on to praying together for their children and schools.
Here are just some of the highlights from the MITI training:
• I didn’t plan on being the only Moms In Touch participant for the conference in Rwanda. I invited other women to join me but to no avail. Then God decided to send Beatrice, an MITI mom from Kenya to help me. She was the perfect one to be a part of this training. • The gospel was presented and eight women prayed to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior. • About 60 women, who came from a nearby village, spent the night after the first day of the conference. We were told that these women were up all night praising God, forming prayer groups and having a wonderful time. Miraculous answers to prayer were shared with us on Saturday morning. • The life of a “village woman” versus someone educated in the city is vastly different in Rwanda. Women are treated very badly – the men use them for whatever their need is at any given time. To see these women gathered together and encouraging each other as God’s Word was shared was a true gift for each one of us on the team.
I would encourage any woman who is sensing that call to go and share about MITI in another country to obey God’s voice. You will be blessed beyond what you could have ever imagined. |
