MITI Booklet
translation a powerful tool cross-culturally
|
Do you know a missionary, neighbor,
friend or relative who could use the
Moms In Touch Booklet in another
language?
 |
Sniffling escalated to
crying during the first Moms In Touch prayer hour
Paula Dinkins led in Thailand.
"What's wrong?" she asked after they had
finished praying through the four steps, using a
Thai translation of the Moms In Touch International
Booklet. One mom explained, "We'e all from a
Buddhist background. Buddhists don't pray out loud.
We've never heard anyone pray a blessing for our
children."
"That's really powerful," said Paula, who led
her first Thai group in 1999 as a missionary with
Overseas Missionary Fellowship.
"Women everywhere are burdened for their
children," continued Paula, who still uses the
booklet translations even though she's now living in
Pasadena, California. "It is important to remember
this is not just another Western idea being
presented: We pray God's Word, and that's
transferable to any culture. The Holy Spirit is
drawing women to Himself through prayer and through
this little booklet."
God is at work cross-culturally in the United
States, as well. "I was speaking at a Thai church in
California and sharing my burden that we must pray
for our kids," Paula shared. "A woman started
crying. She said, 'I'd love to know that kind of
God.' I had a copy of the MITI Booklet in Thai and
said 'Read this. It will really encourage you to get
to know this God.' My friend said that the next week
in church the woman stood up and gave her testimony
that she had asked Jesus into her life. God had used
the MITI Booklet to bring her to salvation!"

Help Moms In Touch
stay in touch
We speak to women every day who pray
in a Moms In Touch group, some even
lead a group, but they are not
registered with us as a MITI mom. We
estimate that at least 175,000 women
pray in MITI groups around the
globe. But that's just an estimate.
Our database lists only 65,000
women.
As we look forward to our 25th
anniversary celebration in the fall
of 2009, we would love to know how
many MITI moms are really out there
praying for their children and
schools. If you know a MITI mom or a
group that does not receive this
Enews, please encourage them to
register online at MomsInTouch.org,
