Most women join a Moms In Touch group for their
child's school because a friend invited them to
come. What they experience during the MITI hour
of prayer each week is life-changing. We hear
over and over again about moms who come to MITI
with overwhelming burdens and leave with a
God-given peace. Moms grow nearer to God as they
get to know His wonderful attributes during the
Praise time each week. Not to mention, they
experience how graciously God answers prayer for
their children and schools.

We
wondered, how much you know about the ministry
of MITI beyond the walls of the living room or
kitchen where you meet for weekly prayer. This
month we are sharing points of interest that may
surprise you about the ministry of Moms In Touch
International. |

MITI groups meet in women's prisons in 20
states? "God is bringing hope to women who
are painfully separated from their children,"
reports Valerie Eaton, MITI Prison Ministry
Facilitator for seven years. "Through prayer, He
brings healing to women who have lost hope. One
inmate had not heard from her children in many
years. As she began praying in MITI, God
softened her heart. She confessed to her
daughter-in-law the anger and dislike she had
harbored; the inmate further shared that God
wanted her to bless her daughter-in-law and pray
Scripture for her children. Her daughter-in-law
responded with a card and pictures of the
grandbabies, and this inmate is now reconnected
with her family. I have the awesome privilege of
seeing God's miracles happen!
a
"I
often receive requests from inmates who have
heard about MITI and want a group for their
prison. Some women have been transferred and
have taken MITI to the new prison. One prison
chaplain requested we start a group at her
prison because of the positive changes in
behavior she had seen in MITI moms. Inmates are
also getting involved in groups upon release,
and receive focus, purpose and support that is
helping them stay straight."

MITI groups meet to pray for home
schoolers?
Moms who have taken on the responsibility of
teaching their children at home are finding that
praying in a Moms In Touch group is doubly
rewarding. They are praying for their children,
but also for themselves as the teachers-and
maybe for dads as principals. Home schooling
moms/teachers have special challenges. Just
finding a convenient time to meet is difficult
for moms who have children at home all day.

MITI working moms make it happen?
Mothers working full time outside
their homes have a great burden to gather and
pray for their children, but time constraints
make it difficult. Moms In Touch International
provides a helpful format that can be adapted by
working moms representing various schools who
wish to get together during lunchtime, evenings
or weekends to pray for their children and the
schools they attend.

MITI groups meet for special
needs children?
A mom who has a child with special needs can
feel isolated, and prayer partners are the
greatest support she can have-other moms willing
to pray for and love her special child, other
moms with the strength to faithfully lift her
child up in prayer even when her own faith is
weak.

MITI groups for Grandmas exist?
How special it is when a grandmother intercedes
for a child. What a powerful way to be a part of
her grandchild's life. A grandmother may pray
with an existing MITI group for the school her
grandchild attends, or she may choose to form a
separate group just for grandmothers. A
Grandmothers In Touch group offers comfort and
encouragement to those not living close to their
grandchildren.

MITI groups meet in over 120
countries?
God is exploding the international ministry of
Moms In Touch. In 2006 alone, fifty-seven MITI
women traveled beyond America's borders to over
fifty-seven countries sharing the MITI ministry
with nationals in their native language. The
simplicity of the four-steps of prayer format
can be easily taught and translated, and God is
working in the lives of mothers, children and
schools-more than we will ever know this side of
heaven.
